Tonight I watched one of the most over-the-top films I've ever seen. It's a little gem called Shoot 'em Up. Now I'm a big fan of Monica Bellucci, but it's Clive Owen that steals the show. He basically shoots everything that annoys him for an hour and a half (pony-tails, dirty toenails, earings, etc.). Anyway, the best part of the film was a song on the soundtrack that slid right by. I thought to myself, "Wait, what was that? That was cool." I looked up the band and they are called Midnight Movies.I now know they have been out for a couple years, but I just found them. Deal with it. They are awesome! I really go for that whole 80s-Post-Punk-throwback, but this is different. It's like Joy Division and My Bloody Valentine asked Nico to sing for them. It's so good! I'm only half way through their album, but I'm sold. I know I'm a sucker for Goth, but really...what's come out lately that rocks your socks besides Ipso Facto?
Anywho, the moral of this blog is 1. Shoot 'em Up is not for your parents, but it is the cherry on your violent-bloodsoaked-action fix and 2. Midnight Movies are a great band!

When I read this at first, I thought Clive Owen shot (in the film sense) everything that annoyed him for an hour and a half. For example, he would say to himself, "Toenails really bother me. I think I'll film them for ninety minutes and see if I can figure out why, and if they still do in the end." Obviously I was totally off. But I kind of want to make a spoof now.
Yeah, I related to the Clive Owen character, he has an over-developed sense of justice.
