150 of the Greatest Records of All Time pt.1

Hello everyone. I've decided to put together a list of 150 of the greatest records of all time. Now this is a list of 150 records that I think are great, I'm not saying these are THE greatest records. This is meant to be fun so let's do our best to not rip me a new one when you don't see your record on this list. I'm sorry to some of you. Sarah Kramer (The Go-Go's didn't make it), Erin (Tears For Fears didn't cut it) and Leslie (Patty Griffin isn't here). Sorry. Below is a list of #101-150 on my list. I'll release two more blogs with the rest. I've decided these are in no order so deal with it. Also, for those of you that didn't see your favorite record, don't get mad at my records. They had no say in this. Enjoy.

Christian Death - Only Theatre of Pain
This is a great Goth record.

Interpol - Turn On the Bright Lights
These guys really helped pick up the slack of a fading generation of Post-Punk music lovers.

James Brown - 20 All Time Greatest
Everyone needs some James Brown in their life.

Spinal Tap - This is Spinal Tap
With songs like "Big Bottom" and "Stonehenge" it's a classic

The Zombies - Odyssey & Oracle
This doesn't have their greatest song ever "The Way I Feel Inside" but it's a great record.

Culture Club - Kissing to Be Clever
This is such a great 80s record.

Vampyros Lesbos - The Soundtrack for Vampyros Lesbos
This should really be in the top 50 but the list was hard, if you ever want a great party record get this.

Weezer - (Blue Album)
This really is their best record

Meat Beat Manifesto - Subliminal Sandwich
An overlooked electronic gem.

Brian Eno - Here Come the Warm Jets
It's Eno!

The Supremes - The Ultimate Collection
I often forget how great they were.

The Ink Spots - Greatest Hits
One of my all-time favorite "Doo Wop" records

Wu-Tang Clan - Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)
This is a really good record, their new one isn't bad either.

White Zombie - La Sexorcisto Devil Music Vol 1.
I don't care, this album is a classic.

Tori Amos - Under the Pink
I really wish she would have stayed this course.

They Might Be Giants - Apollo 18
Look, I could put every TMBG record on this list.

The Sugarcubes - Life's Too Good
It's got the song "Birthday"

Regina Spektor - Begin to Hope
One of the few "newbie's" on the list. This girl has some major talent.

The Raveonettes - Pretty In Black
All their records are great, but this is the best.

Primus - Sailing the Seas of Cheese
Primus will always be the most talented group of weirdos.

Yoko Ono - Yes, I'm a Witch
An instant classic.

Nine Inch Nails - Broken
I know it's totally 90s, but it was very influential.

Nick Drake - Way to Blue
He's been continuously overlooked, but he was one of the greatest singer-songwriters of the 20th century.

Nellie McKay - Get Away From Me
I think this was one of the greatest records of the last decade.

Hedwig and the Angry Inch - The Soundtrack
This was very well done.

Georges Brassens - Greatest Hits
I know all of you are going "who?" but trust me. It's French folk music at it's best.

The Flaming Lips - The Soft Bulletin
This was the record that would change their career.

Fiona Apple - When the Pawn...
This was the record that solidified her as a great musician.

Blonde Redhead - Misery is a Butterfly
They were just a Sonic Youth rip until this record, it's amazing.

Antony & the Johnsons - I am a Bird Now
I love him. He's like a mellow reincarnation of Roxy Music.

Tricky - Maxinquaye
This is THE Tricky record.

Kylie Minogue - Light Years
Ladies, put on your hot-pants and dance the night away!

PJ Harvey - White Chalk
This was an excellent career move.

Eddy Arnold - Sings Them Again
I love Eddy Arnold

Beck - Sea Change
This is probably the best record Beck ever wrote, too bad it's sad.

Heavy Vegetable - Frisbie
Very low key, they broke up years ago but if you like "Math-rock" you'll drool over this.

The Pixies - Surfer Rosa
I think this was their best album.

Beethoven - 25 Favorites
It doesn't matter what album you get, just make sure you have a Beethoven record.

The White Stripes - De Stijl
Who would have guessed they get so big?

Siouxsie & the Banshees - Join Hands
Count on more Siouxsie to come!

Prince - Under the Cherry Moon
Not a fan favorite, but one of mine.

Pinback - Blue Screen Life
This was the band that came out of the break up of Heavy Vegetable, too bad Rob Crow is mean.

New Order - Low Life
I had Substance on the list, but I'd be lying if I said this wasn't the better of the two.

Nina Nastasia - Run to Ruin
For those of you that don't know about her, check it out.

Madonna - Madonna
More to come...

Sean Lennon - Friendly Fire
He is an amazing song writer.

Led Zepplin - II
It was hard to choose, but II is my favorite.

Iron Maiden - Number of the Beast
I'd be crazy not to put some Maiden on the list.

Grease - The Soundtrack
YES!!!!

Belle & Sebastian - The Boy With Arab Strap
Love them or Hate them. I love them.
